Neem oil is a widely popular product for dogs because of its medicinal and antiseptic properties. Not only does neem oil keep their coats healthy and shiny, it also keeps ticks, parasites and fleas at bay. If you want your dog to have a healthy and glossy coat, you can consider using neem oil shampoo on your dog. This is effective for keeping ticks and fleas under control due to the insecticidal properties of neem. If your dog is suffering from skin problems then it is advisable to use neem products on it. Additionally, it helps prevent shedding of fur in excess. However, you don’t necessarily need to purchase neem oil shampoo from the market; you can also make this at home. Simply mix together 5 ml of neem oil to every 100ml of regular shampoo for dogs.
You can also use neem soap on dogs, which are easily available in the market. These are extremely safe for usage and can be used to treat skin rashes, yeast infections, viruses and scabies. It is also gentle enough for everyday use. If your dog has a lot of fleas on its coat then use neem oil on it, but remember to do it in moderation. Raw neem oil is always best for this purpose. Never make the mistake of choosing refined neem oil for your dogs because it would be ineffective.
Neem oil can be used on the ears of the dog. Simply rub a little bit of neem oil on the furry edges of your dog’s ears to prevent tick or flea infestation. Moreover, you can dilute neem oil with olive or almond oil because the former is definitely strong in nature. You can also use neem oil as a spray on your dog’s coat. Making a neem oil spray is extremely easy. Simply take a gallon of warm water, mix two tablespoons of liquid soap into it and add a tablespoon of neem oil to the mixture. Stir well and then transfer the mixture to a spray bottle. You can now spray this on your dog whenever necessary.
